Sanchar Saathi Mobile Tracker is a citizen-centric initiative by the Department of Telecommunications that aims to empower mobile subscribers, enhance their security, and increase awareness about government initiatives. This mobile tracker provides various modules, including CEIR and TAFCOP.
The CEIR module allows users to trace lost or stolen mobile devices. It also enables blocking of these devices across all telecom networks in India, preventing their unauthorized use. If someone attempts to use a blocked mobile phone, its traceability is generated. Once the device is found, it can be unblocked on the portal for normal usage.
The TAFCOP module allows mobile subscribers to check the number of connections issued in their name. It also provides a facility to report connections that are not required or were not taken by the subscriber.
